A collaborative undertaking by Luke Cho, Brian Cho (unrelated), and myself Given the opportunity to transform a space through auditory experience, we decided to produce a surface that would make one ever-conscious of their every step. A narrow hallway was chosen as it forced people to deal with our installation, and to make sure it was a well traversed hallway, we placed the installation in front of the men’s room and stairwell access. When the boards were stepped on, various levels of clapping sounds were made. On top of that, due to the way in which these boards were placed, an uneven surface was produced. The effect was analogous to conspicuously walking on a series of teeter-totters.
